Ram Configuration

Hi, I bought 4 gigs of new ram for my mac, and they arrived this morning, They are in 4x1gig

I currently have 2x512mb in my pc and was wondering what the best configuration was?

I have heard putting 2x1 gig in riser A and 2x1 gig in riser B then putting the other 2 512mb into Riser B, is this correct?

Ok, I have solved the question above, but I now have a new question 🙂

I am using Bootcamp and running windows XP, now I know windows XP can only detect 3gigs of the ram (I am going to upgrade to vista soon) but no matter how I configure the ram in my PC it is only picking up 2 gigs, does anyone know why?

Thanks,
Matt.

Ok, I have been trying to sort this out all evening and have done alot of research and reading forums etc, and I cannot get windows to detect more than 2 gigs of ram.

I have tried /pae /3gb /maxmem=4096
everything!

I have made it so Riser A has 2x1gb Ram sticks in it and Riser B has 2x1gb Ram sticks.

Does anybody have a clue how to make this work?

Thanks,
Matt.
