master/slave rev c need jumper settings?

Hi Al

I recently received a few g3s to work with and I'm putting one together just for email and the web and It has a rev c (77d 45f2) rom in it and I want to put a second hard dr. in it but i can't find the jumper settings, theres nothing on either of the quantums 1 6gb and the other 8gbs. I have a ribbon cable and will put one where the floppy went, does anyone know where I can find them, I went to quantum and these are so old that they don't have any info on them on their site!!! Or do any of you know the jumper settings are--I thought they would be marked with a M/S/S or something? Any help would be welcome thanks Bill

The Quantum Fireball SE/ST IDE drives have a simple jumper setup. With the top of the drive facing upright, the power connection is on the far right. Between the data pins and power connection, there are four pairs of vertically-aligned pins. From left-to-right, the pins are labeled DS (Drive Select) for master w/slave present or standalone device, CS (Cable Select), PK (Park) for storing an unused jumper, and the fourth pair was reserved for future use. For master, the jumper is positioned at DS. Because the slave configuration requires no jumper, it can be stored at PK. Incidentally, tech info for older Quantum drives can be found at the Maxtor web site.
