Iphone Drivers Win2K

Good Morning,
I am unable to load the latest version of Itunes onto my work PC. I am running Windows 2000, Service Pack 4. I just need the driver so I can charge my phone through the USB port. When I hook up my found I get the Hardware configuration wanting drivers.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated and thanks in advance.
Also, when I hook up my ipod I am able to see the drive in the My Computer but when I have the Iphone hook up I dont see it. Does anyone know why that is? Just curious..

Not sure about the driver issue, but the iPhone doesn't support accessing the filesystem like iPods do (thus you cannot access it like a drive)

I would never speculate, but I will pass along speculation from others 🙂

Others seem to be speculating that disk-use-mode will be coming out on Friday's Global 1.1.2 update

If you're not going to use iTunes for syncing, why charge from your computer? Why not use the cradle with the AC adapter that came with your iPhone? The you don't need to worry about the USB Adapter.

I do apologize for this inconvenience. At this time iTunes 7.5 does not seem to be supported by Windows 2000.

Based on our System Requirements for the latest iTunes posted below.

500 MHz Pentium class processor or better
QuickTime 7.1.6 or later (included)

Broadband Internet connection (DSL/Cable/LAN) for buying and streaming music

2GHz Pentium class processor or better
512MB RAM
32MB video RAM

I would use my usb power adapter but I use it at home. I guess my only option is to see if I can upgrade my windows to xp.
So, did someone say there is going to be another update for the iphone coming soon?

Even "IF" there is an update forthcoming,
I seriously doubt support for a competitors 8 yr old OS will be included.

Not to go off subject, but since this post was inserted... iTunes 7.5 will not install in either my home pc or work pc because of the same issue, a pop up window says it has an invalid signature and will not be installed. None of the system requirements listed are an issue.
