Won't sync all iCal calendars

iPod nano 3rd Gen 8GB. iTunes 7.5. Mac OS 10.4.10.

I have 6 calendars in my iCal (two of which are broadcast to an iCal server, one of which is a subscribed calendar) and want them all to sync to my iPod. In the syncing preferences all the calendars are shown but only four of them actually sync -- the three basic ones, and the subscribed one. Whatever I do (selected syncing all calendars, selecting them manually), I can't get the two that are broadcast to the iCal server to sync.

Any ideas? Bug?

I just noticed that not all (3) my calendars were syncing, I tried unticking 'all' and ticking them all separately, this got two of them on but not the third, so I tried again by going back to 'all' synced again and none of the calendars were there. I then closed iCal, synced again with 'all' ticked and it worked!

I'm not sure what part of that got it working but I suspect it may just be closing iCal and possibly restarting iTunes.

This isn't good enough, i've got an 8gig nano and relied on having contacts & calenders synced and left for my flight, with all my flight details on iCal, as that's how I operated with my old black and white ipod.

Got to the airport, no flight details. No contacts to even anyone to find out. I'm not messing with bug fixing, i'm just selling my nano, this just isn't good enough.

I just bought a new 8G iPod Nano to replace my 20G iPod photo that died after 2 years. Since there was so much space, never had a problem with syncing all my contacts and calendars. I really need this information so got the Nano instead of the iPhone for now. Now I can't sync them and not sure if I should return it.

If I don't sync anything but the contacts and calendars it works but when I add back music and podcasts, no contacts or calendars come back up.

I was going to try to downgrade from 1.1. Should I go through the trouble? Will it work for sure?

Or should I just sell it?

Hi all,

I had the same problem: set-up calendar and contact sync with my iTunes (Mac) and the data simply wasn't appearing, even if I restarted iTunes and replugged the iPod.

After doing the Reset, the data did appear in the interface, so something isn't getting refreshed once the sync is finished. Something more for our dear developpers to fix ... 🙂

TEMPORARY SOLUTION FOR BUGGY IPOD NANO (Still and its been how long? seriously apple)
=======================================================

After a reset of the nano, go to your extras screen and hover over either the contacts or the calendar option but do not press the center button. Simply wait for an extended period of time (no idea how long guess it all depends on how large your address book or ical events)

after a bit go ahead and enter into either, it should be great until you reset the nano (center + menu)

also I've seen the ipod crash and restart a number of times just by navigating the music.... its ridiculous that apple broke the basic UI in attempts to upgrade it with eye candy.

Also, make sure that you have enough space in your iPod.

Gee, my 4GB iPod has over 1GB free, by its own accounting. Do you think that might be enough space? The iCal database backup only takes up 2.8MB! I could store a nice high resolution video of myself printing out my calendar and flipping endlessly through the pages, zooming in on each day 🙂
