Won't sync all iCal calendars

iPod nano 3rd Gen 8GB. iTunes 7.5. Mac OS 10.4.10.

I have 6 calendars in my iCal (two of which are broadcast to an iCal server, one of which is a subscribed calendar) and want them all to sync to my iPod. In the syncing preferences all the calendars are shown but only four of them actually sync -- the three basic ones, and the subscribed one. Whatever I do (selected syncing all calendars, selecting them manually), I can't get the two that are broadcast to the iCal server to sync.

Any ideas? Bug?

I have the same problem, here. Sometimes, after several sync's, I'll get all the cal's in the nano. Most of the time, however, even though I can see all the cal's I've synced sitting in nano, via the Finder(I have nano set up for disk use), they fail to display on nano, after unmounting. Very annoying!!

This sounds like a bug to me. Hope they fix it with the next update.

I'm a little bummed about this. I sent a bug report to Apple and never heard anything back. I guess what makes this ironic is the recent announcement of the iCal features to the Touch. You would think the syncing software would be somewhat similar between these two platforms.

For years my 3G iPod worked flawlessly syncing calendars. I wonder what changed in the last few months?

I too am having the same problem-
Sometimes I can get my ical to sync to my 3G iPod by clicking on the iPod in iTunes and click the tab that says "Contacts." The funny thing is that only part of my contacts will ever sync.

The other thing that I have noticed is that iTunes seems to sync my iCal more often than not, when I have iCal open.

Weird stuff.

I think they are victims of their own success right now. They have a lot of irons in the fire and I can sympathize with them to a certain extent. It can be hard to keep everything up to the same standards as when you were smaller and grow at the same time. It is a vicious cycle.

At the same time this sounds like this issue should be a simple fix. The syncing has worked in the past and for new units like the Touch, Apple is advertising this syncing as an upgrade.

I can't see how there can be a big difference in conduits between the two products. Take what is working on the Touch and migrate it over to the Nano. (Who knows, Touch owners may be experiencing the same problem.) I'm beginning to wonder if this is a Tiger to iTunes issue since iCal has had some major changes in Leopard. I'll be upgrading soon and hopefully that will fix this.

I am having the same problem. However, I reset my iPod several times in a row (2 or 3) until all my calendars and contacts showed up correctly. Lock you device, unlock it, hold down the middle button and the menu button at the same time until the apple appears.
Look at this link:

Hope this works for you.

I had some free time this morning to try this and see if it worked and unfortunately it did not. So I went back and restored the iPod but instead of syncing everything that is normally on the iPod I only sync'd the calendars and contacts. Guess what, it worked! I then added my music and it still worked. I slowly added podcasts, pictures, etc. and then finally when they were all on there that's when funny things started happening. I then again started from a restore and tried adding items in a different order but couldn't figure out what is causing the problem. My free time is gone and now I have to be productive for the rest of the day so I'll have to play again later.
