New Powerbook 145 battery?-where?

Hi everyone,
I was given an old PB 145 that I write letters & email on & then transfer them to my desktop. Know of any good places to buy a new battery? One of Apple's articles says that they still make & sell them, but I could not find them anywhere online at the Apple store.
thanks,
Scott

If it is of any help to you to know it, the M5653 battery was specific to the PBs 145b and 150. The PB 145 used the M5417 battery. However, Apple's kb article 16168 goes on to promise that both 145s can also use (perhaps I should rather quote the article as saying 'are compatible with') the M5654 battery. This last was used in the PBs 160, 165, 180. You have quite a wide choice, therefore, if you go shopping. The trouble is that they are all NiCd batteries of more than a dozen years' age, unless they have been recelled or newly manufactured.

Search eBay for 'PowerBook 140 battery'. There are a couple companies that produce new batteries for only $29. (To make it even better, they have higher energy capacity, so your PB should run even longer.)

Be sure to pick one of the ones that says New to make sure you have one of the new/remanufactured ones, not an old one that's probably also dead.

Here's one with a one-year warranty: http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Apple-Powerbook-140-150-160-battery-NiMH-4-2A_W0QQitemZ6 819613336QQcategoryZ11169QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
