UK - Phone Number N/A in iTunes

Hey there. I got the phone just after 6pm, rushed home and activated it no problem with a new number. I've spent most of the night playing with it as it charges setting up voice mail, ect. When i've just noticed that in the itunes summary page my phone number is listed as N/A nor is it listed in the phone.

I found another thread on the matter on these forums and it seemed that righted itself after a few days.. Which of course mine might. I just wondered if anyone new what was causing it? To my knowledge everything else is perfectly fine. I can text and call, ect. So my account is activated. Just the iPhone can't see it? I even reset the phone to factory and re flashed it but no joy.

I know its only a little niggle, but does anyone know why it happens?

Hi

I too have n/a in iTunes where the phone number should be (UK). Also, is it possible and if so where, to view your own phone number on the iPhone?

Thanks.

Just found out that the reason for the cell phone number not showing in iTunes is in fact an O2 policy not to have the phone number added to the SIM to prevent people seeing it displayed in iTunes for security reasons!

How ever there is a fix for this, Remove your sim card from your iPhone and place it in to a standard cell phone. Once you have your iPhone sim in another cell phone edit the My Number to display 07xxxxxxxxx then place your sim back in to your iPhone this will now make it show up in iTunes and in the Contact list.

Hope this helps.
