Uninstalling Programs

Uninstalling Programs

I've searched this site and no where does it talk about uninstalling programs. I need to uninstall open office and symantec for macs.

I'm new to mac and was a windows XP user before that and can't find an "uninstaller" on my computer. I'm on a macbook using 10.4.10 OS.

It is a PITA, dont know why OSX does not have an Add/Remove programs list either.

Mostly just have to trash the program folder and delete the related preferences files manually. They are located under Users>you>Library>Preferences and/or just Library>Preferences.

Sometimes the original install disk may have an uninstall option so try that first.

I did an all forums search, right above "welcome freya..." on the right. I found multiple pages of hits.

I have "appdelete" installed. There are others as well.
