Wrong times from meeting requests in iCal

When I receive appointment from outlook, the time is off 7 hours. The email shows the correct time but iCal has the wrong time.

Thanks for your help.

I , too, am facing a similar problem when I synchronize my Nokia 9300 with either of my Macs: the event times are 7 hours off e.g. a 1230pm lunch appointment on the Nokia is shown as 530 am in iCal. I thought that this was because I live in a time zone that is 7 hours ahead of GMT. However, all attempts to solve this problem by changing the time settings in the Nokia or through Mac Preferences did not work. These settings on both the devices, Nokia & Mac, are otherwise correct. I have iCal 2.0.5 loaded on my MacBook Pro. I am totally at a loss. Any help would be appreciated.

I am having this same problem in iCal. I've tested with two different PCs with Outlook 2007 - only one PC sends incorrect appointment times.

If you turn on Time Zone support in iCal, you'll see that the time zone is probably incorrect for the appointment. On the incorrect appointments I receive, the time zone is UTC, which is 8 hours off from my local time zone.

I have checked the PC that sends the incorrect appointments, and the time zone settings in both Outlook and Windows are correct (PST). Even the message body of the appointment indicates the right time and time zone. It seems to me that iCal is not correctly parsing some of these iCalendars from Outlook.

I have a support e-mail into Apple, and they had to refer it to the engineers to investigate - they couldn't figure it out either.

I have the same issue and /i think it is when the Outlook message is sent via a Microsoft Exchange server that governs their calenders and synching:

I work in a Microsoft environment with all PC users running through exchange server.
I run Mac OS Leopard.
When I receive an invite in Mac Mail as below:

When: 12 March 2008 10:00 AM-10:30 AM (GMT+02:00) Harare, Pretoria.

Which appears in the copy in the mail above the icon for the .ics attachment
When I double click the .ics file attached, the event is added 2 hours later in my iCal App.
My iCal time zone is set for "Africa/Johannesburg", which is identical in time zone to Harare, Pretoria as in the Outlook sent mail.
Time Zone Support is on

Is there some setting on the Server that is causing this.
The Outlook sender has sent the time from Outlook as 10am-10:30am.
I receive the mail and the copy in the mail says 10am-10.30am
so far so good.
When i click the .ics file to add the event to my calender, the start time will now show 12 noon?

I'm having the same problem... but there doesn't seem to be anyone offereing a solution yet...

all the computers on my network have the correct time and time zone... but when I get an appointment from Outlook, my Macbook shows the appointment as an hour later than it's supposed to... thereby possibly making me late for appointments... and I can't fix the appointment because I'm not the originator... I have to fix it in my iPhone, and then re-sync.... this is really a PITA
