unknown error (0xE8000028)... HELP!!!!

I've had my iphone for 1 day, and already it's been ****!
I tried to rset my sim pin, and it didn't work, so locked my sim.
It was then asking for my PUK code - but I couldn't find where I was to put this in.
When i had activated my phone I had spelt my name wrongly, so i thought... I might as well start from the beginning (as I hadn't yet transferred any tunes etc. yet).
So I pressed for a restore, and it started to download something in itunes. The screen on the iphone went black with the great apple and a loading circle... and then... I received the unknown error (0xE8000028) and that was that. My device never came up on my computer and the iphone has now been sitting for a n hour with a black screen an apple and a loading circle!!!!
I restarted everything, plugged and unplugged the doc... but this error just keeps coming up.. itunes cannot to iphone, unknown error (0xE8000028)!
Please can someone help!!!

Hey devinelisa,

You'll have to get the PUK code from AT&T. You can call them or change it online from their web page.

How is the iPhone attached to the computer? Make sure it Is not plugged into a hub keyboard or monitor, make sure its plugged directly into a USB 2.0 port on the computer.

You can also try uninstalling the Apple Mobile Device driver and reinstalling the latest version of iTunes as described here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306637
