no admin account

no admin account

i just installed leopard in a macbook and by default it created a standar user but ther's no admin account how can I create it if i try to make it the usual way it sak for the admin account.

Interestingly enough, after installing Leopard and operating for many days with my old account with System Admin privileges, Leopard autonomously disabled those privileges.

Hmmmm... Wonder how that happened? Any ideas?

Going to the DVD to reinstate my admin privileges...

New info on my problem...

Mystery solved. My Admin user login reverts to a standard login whenever I make a change on the login preferences for that user (adding login items) without unlocking the preference pane. Not sure if it's a bug or "feature".

New symptom, but related problem... When I open the Directory Utility to try to disable root, I only get the "Enable System Admin" option in the menu. This occurs when I'm logged on with my normal account with Admin privileges. Anyone else experiencing this issue?
