I have tried to use Youtube via Edge for the past few days, but every time I try to watch a video, I get a pop-up message telling me I need either wi-fi connection or an Edge connection to view them. I don't quite understand this, was the signal too poor perhaps? Other Edge related items work such as web pages in Safari and Mail etc.

Are you sure you've actually got an EDGE connection?... I too was confused by this, and only realised after reading another thread that you've only got an EDGE connection if you've got an 'E' in the square block in the status bar at the top. If you've just got a square block without the 'E' in it, then you're on GRPS, not EDGE, and will therefore not be able to use YouTube.
There are a few other threads about EDGE coverage in this forum...
Yes you're right, it isn't Edge, it just has the white/blue block, without an E. So I take it GRPS is still free to use but slower than Edge? If it finds an Edge connection will it automatically connect to that instead?
Yes, GRPS is still free to use and slower than EDGE, and yes, from what I've seen, it will look for Wi-Fi first, then EDGE, then GRPS, switching automatically to the best connection as the become available.
I have the same problem. I can't watch music video from youtube.
I doesn't load bedava muzik indir. I tried another site. like www.musictube.net.tc
So I could watch indirect from youtube free music video and mp3 and videos.
How can I solve this problem? srry fo my English.
As documented in the iPhone User's Guide (Manual) which was updated with iPod Update 1.1.2 the blue box indicates GPRS connection. This is discussed on page 16 of the manual which can be downloaded at this link:
