itunes has encountered a problem

I had to restore my computer and re-download itunes. Now when I try to open itunes a box appears that says itunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. we are sorry for the inconvenience. I don't know what to do. I uninstalled and even installed later versions and I still get the same thing. Please help!

the message box error looks like a generic Windows Vista program crash error:
iTunes has stopped working
Windows can check online for a sloution to the problem
->Check online for solution and close program
->Close Program
