Can I change midi format

Can I change a midi file from format 0 (combined midi file) to format 1 (multiple track midi) The reason is that i have a midi file that i want to use the percussion track from (with a bit of editing) but cant find a command to convert the format 0 to format 1 is it even possible in logic pro

Intel mac pro, Mac OS X (10.4.7), protools hd2 logic pro 7.2.3

Preferences>Global>Project Handling

Uncheck "Export MIDI FIle...Saves single MIDI regions as Format 0"
