Solution for Lexmark/Leopard crashes..

Lexmark have admitted having some driver issues with Leopard but this seems to work fine..
Make sure you have printer software and drivers installed.

Open *System Preferences > Print and Fax > Options and Supplies > Driver > Print Using* : +select a driver to use+ - select *Generic PCL LaserPrinter* *> OK*

Now print a document using the offending application, immediately after hitting Print pause the printing in the printer queue (use the printer icon which has now appeared in the dock). With this panel open hit *Info > Driver > Print Using* : +select a driver to use+- select your printers driver eg.*Lexmark x5400 > OK > Resume*

The document should now print as normal, for me, I have not had to redo these steps,it just seems to work, see how you get on, it may only be teporary until Lexmark come up with a solution.

PS. this would probably work with other printer manufacturers too, but I haven't tried yet!

Same here.
I installed the drivers released by Lexmark on the 21st December but they haven't helped, I still can't print.
The only difference seems to be that adding a printer in the Print & Fax preferences now finds the printer (wireless X4580) but whenever I try to print, the app still crashes.
I have resorted to printing to PDF, copying the PDF to my Windows PC and printing from there.

I get the same exact error message (that the printer could not be added to my list of printers in the printer utility) with the new 'Leopard' driver they made, same as the non-Leopard driver also.

I've tried sharing in from my husbands Windows machine, it just crashes. Doing it via IP address.. again, crashes. Plugging USB in and doing it as it states on the Lexmark website.. again, crashes.

My patience is wearing thin with with Lexmark printer now.
