Can't buy ringtones in iTunes

I can't seem to buy a ringtone in iTunes anymore. When I try to buy the ringtone, it says "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. Make sure your network connection is active and try again."

Well, my network connection is fine. I'm entering this right now on the "network connection". I can also purchase and download songs on the "network connection" that iTunes says is not working.

I'm not sure why iTunes and the iStore is barfing on ringtones and not anything else. Anyone else having this problem? Is this a feature to stop people from wasting money buying ringtones?

iTunes: 7.5
Mac OS X 10.4.10

This is getting interesting. I have another mac (Intel Mac Mini) that can't even connect to the iTunes Store. It gives me the same error "*iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. Make sure your network connection is active and try again.*" The strange part of the "+networking problem+" is that I have no problems using the network. Safari runs fine and I can connect to the internet as well as the other machines on my network. I wonder if this is a problem with the iTunes store?

The MacIntel Mini is running Mac OS X 10.4.11 and iTunes version 7.5

I am having the exact same issue attempting to create ringtones. The best part is that iTunes will access the store just fine - it'll search, it'll let me buy, all the rest of it.

But I get the same networking error when I click the bell icon. And the 'Buy Ringtone' option is greyed out in the Store menu. iTunes 7.5, OSX 10.5.

I should have mentioned that one of my machines is a brand new pristine Intel Mac mini, which has the same behavior. Actually, all of my machines behave the same now since they all have OS X 10.4.11 and iTunes 7.5. Rebooting them all made them all behave the same (iTunes store works, but no ringtones.)

I am also having this same issue. I just got my iPhone yesterday and went to the iTunes Store and I get the same error message.

I kept futzing around and it suddenly worked one time, but now it's back to the same message.

I have the latest version of everything, I logged completely out of iTunes Store then logged back in, etc. Nothing is working.
