O2 UK - Visual Voicemail not working?

I have successfully set up my voicemail on my Iphone. Unanswered calls etc are going to voicemail and I can retrieve my voice mail when I dial 901.

My problem is that I am not getting any notification at all on my Iphone when I receive a voicemail.

I was wondering if there was a quick fix before I go through the hassle of contacting O2/Apple support.

Interesting problem.

First, try the following to reset your voicemail diverts:

1) dial 1760 to delete the diverts from your account
2) dial 1750 to re-activate them again

Then, just to be on the safe side, completely power off your phone by pressing & holding the power button for about 5 secs the sliding the slider. Power on again and voicemail should re-synchronise.

I had the same problem whereby I could dial 901, but I could not get visual voicemail setup from the iPhone and did not receive visual voicemail notifications.

The steps I went through which finally resovled it were to dial 1760 to switch voicemail off, then dial 1750 to switch it back on. Dial 901 and go through the prompts to add my password and setup my greeting. Then finally I powered down the phone (hold the sleep button until it prompts to turn off) then switch on again. After this it all worked.

You may find that just powering off and back on again (propper power off - not just sleep) is enough.
