Mail not receiving attachments or cannot recognise attachments

hi, since upgrading to leopard (10.5.1) (and Mail 3.1) i am having problems receiving attachments.

I have experienced the problem on both my G5 and my new macbook pro, both running identical versions of the OS.

The problem is occurring with attached MS word Docs, PDFs and EPS files. I have tried a few tests and it seems to be occurring only when i am sent these attachments from someone on a PC.

One other thing: the email message size indicates that the attached file is present (ie. I was emailed an EPS file yesterday and the email message was 765kb yet there were no visible attachments. I tried forwarding the mail to my gmail account and the attachment was still not there.)

Any advice/fix for this issue is greatly appreciated.

thanks

Yes, here we have similar problems.
We are 3 at the office that use Mail as the main email application.
And sometime, when receiving email with attachments sent from a pc, Mail seems to be unable to recognize the attachment correctly.
Seems to be a problem with multipart message. Mail display the message as raw text where we can see all the parts. Like seeing the raw source.

What is strange is if the email is sent to the 3 of us, not everybody will have the problem. Sometime the attachments are fine for one person but not for the others.

We are all running Leopard 10.5.1 on MBP Santa Rosa.
The mail account is an imap account on a Ms Exchange Server.

I have a same kind of problem:

When I recieve a mail with several attachments, I can see from the mail overview screen, that there are 3 attachements (I know it are 2 images, and 1 powerpoint file), when I then open the mail, it tells me there are only 2 attachements, the 2 images, no sign of an powerpoint attachement...

But, when I select the mail from the overview, and go to file, save attachments, Mail will export all 3 attachments to my folder of choice...

This is verry, annoying, I'm only using a mac for about 2 years now, but these kinds of bugs are really shamefull for a computer/OS that costs €2000 ...

I have the same problem - took forever to find it mentioned anywhere else. It seems to occur only when the message has been sent from a PC running Outlook where the fancy Outlook stationery function has been used - it's almost as if Mail handles the background image as the main attachment. Anyway, cmd y worked for me. Where is the mail.plist file to be found? I want a better fix...
