Dust under screen!!

Hi has anyone else got the problem of having small specs of dust under the iphone screen?

I have some near to the top (by the photos widget) - and although small - are annoying me!!

If so what can I do about it - will apple replace it??

Help please.

Funny you mention this problem.
I just discovered 3 little particles under the screen. The weird thing is that they look like tiny perfectly round water drop.....
I am returning the phone tomorrow. I want a new one because a few months ago the black plastic part at the bottom of the phone became slightly loose (it basically makes some noise when I press the home button and I almost can lift the edge) and when I took it to the store they said that it was ok....
At the time I was fine with the "ok" answer. Now I am not! I don't want to think that by getting slightly loose, this plastic part is letting small particles entering my phone.
You should go to the store too. No reasons why a phone should let particles in.

man it took me a while to find someone else that was having this problem but i got one under the screen and thought oh well but now a second one showed up and its starting to annoy me mine are next to the back and forward buttons when usinf safari so if your lookin at the phone like you were to make a call they are both on the left side of the screen and they do look like tiny water drop. What i want to know is will Apple exchange this phone under the one year warranty. This is not only annoying but should not happen on a 600 dollar phone I'm pist!

So now the ? is how are we going to keep this from happening again? well I just ordered a dummy plug to protect from dust in the charging port but they don't sell anything like this for the headphone jack which is where I'm pretty sure most of the dust is coming from. I was thinking about a case for the iphone but the only one that I found that covers up those ports are the iskin version and I hate use cases like that because it adds to the phones bulkiness. My final and only option if I can make it not look so tacky is a pencil eraser tip modified to fit the headphone port. Any other suggestions lets hear them! Oh one more ? xavier Pilsudski when you got your replacement iphone what firmware version comes on it?

RAMONE,

Where did you buy the dummy plug? Sounds like a good idea, for when your out and about. As you pointed out, they need to come out with a headphone jack plug. Would be easy to mass market and cheap to buy. I use my ear buds almost always, so that plugs mine. I just ordered the BOSE QC 3 head phones, with the iPhone kit. So now I can really enjoy both speaking and listening in total comfort and quality!

simple solution:

I took an old cheap pair of headphones that have the type of plug that will not go all the way in because of the recessed port. I cut off the plug right at the end where the cord starts -- now I have just the actual plug itself with no cord. This one is about 1/4 inch long and black so it kinda matches the iphone (looks like a tiny antenna). I plug it into the hole and it stays in and keeps dirt and dust out. And since it doesn't have the "custom" recessed head, it doesn't actually make the connection and cause the sound to not come out of the speaker. If I knew how to post a pic I would. I've used mine for 4 months with no problems...no dust... and it doesn't fall out. Good luck !!
