Microsoft Remote Desktop Active X Contol settings

I have an Intel Based iMac running OS X 10.4.10. Until very recently, I was able to log on to my company's Windows based server in Safari by using Microsoft Remote Desktop. This allowed me to go the desktop of my office computer. However, just recently when I try to do this, I get the following dialog box error message

"This portion of the Remote Web Workplace requires the Microsoft Remote Desktop ActiveX Control. Your browser's security settings may be preventing you from downloading ActiveX controls. Adjust these settings, and try to connect again."

Can anyone tell me why this stopped working and how to fix it? Is there a download for the Remote Desktop ActiveX Control?

I don't understand why you are using Safari. I use run the Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection and log into my computer at work. I don't go through Safari. I connect via VPN and then launch RDC. From there, it is as if I am in the office using my Windows machine, when in fact I am home on my MAC. Have you tried it this way?
Here is the link to download the Miscrosoft RDC for MAC.
