I recently purchased an Archos video player and would like to d/l videos from iTunes to watch on the Archos. Archos will not display iTunes videos directly so I need to convert .m4v to .avi but the copyright protection from Apple won't let me. I am upgrading to the most recent version of iTunes now, will that make it possible? If not, what can I do?
Upgrading will not resolve this problem. The protection will prevent the use of these files on anything but an iPod or an Apple TV to stream to your TV. The protection will only allow you to burn a data disc which is for backup purposes only. There simply is no workaround. Sorry.
Thank you very much! Now I know that I am not going to d/l any more videos from iTunes. Too bad since I am a hard core MAC and iPod fan! I just don't like the small screens on iPods. The Archos screen is WAY bigger. Maybe they will come out with a larger screen on iPods but I already purchased an Archos.
