Motorola KRZR and Bluetooth

You can use Bluetooth File Exchange (in the Utilities Folder, I think) to put movies/audio/pics on your KRZR. I use BFE for my movies/audio/pics, but I need USB to use iSync. I've never been able to use Bluetooth to do iSync.

I'm having the same problem... I tried using the BFE and if I browsed the "device"/phone's folders, I could see the "ringtones" folder and tried to send it to there... but if I didn't select a folder, the "transfer failed." does that make any sense?

I'm going to keep trying sending the file.
(the file is an .MP3, 312 KB @ 19secs... if that changes anything :-P)

I can't get the USB connection to recognize the new KRZR is even plugged in! I've tried two different USB cables, and am connecting directly into the back of my iMac. Do I need a very specific Motorola cable to make this work? Any thoughts on what you did to connect via USB would be huge! Thanks!

Be sure to have the phone open and unlocked before you attempt to "Add Device".

it is open, and unlocked - I bought it from the Verizon store in the US. This shouldn't be so challenging to get my Mac to recognize the phone is connected via USB. I don't have Bluetooth on this older Mac, otherwise I'd try that route..thanks!

I'm having a totally different problem.
When I attempt to use iSync with my KRZR K1 iSync discovers the phone, then simply says "this device is not supported by iSync" which is strange seeing how it's the very first device on apple's list of devices supported by iSync, and this is the whole reason I bought the phone in the first place.

i had the same problem w/ another razr phone from verizon. the problem lies w/ verizon blocking obex file transfers. they want you to use their pay service for all music and data transfers. the older razr phones had software w/ obex enabled. sorry for the bad news.

I can use iSync with bluetooth, but only for my phone contacts. Not for files. It also fails immediately every time I try to use Bluetooth File Exchange. The only way I found to get music on my phone is to:

1) Put the micro SD card into the phone (with the phone powered off, of course)
2) Turn the phone on so it will set up the necessary folders
3) Take the card back out of the phone and load it into an adapter and put the songs directly into the micro sd card.

For me to do this, since there is no SD card slot on a macbook, I loaded it through the multimedia card slot on my printer. A little frustrating to have to go this far just to listen to music on my phone. Btw, I don't think it necessary to go to extreme lengths to try to get music loaded directly to your phone memory. It'll only hold about 4 songs. I say forget it. Get an iPhone 😉
