KDX on Leopard having d/l issues

To KDX Support:
I was wondering if you have heard of KDX on Leopard having d/l issues ?
The d/l starts off Very Robust, but within a minute, It just sort of stalls then dies. Leopard has rendered KDX Unusable!

KDX support response:
Hi, this is because the MacOS version of KDX Client uses "Open Transport", a terrible networking >interface that Apple developed and then later abandoned and replaced because it was so horrible. >They provided backwards compatibility for it but apparently that backwards compatibility is not
working anymore.
The next release of KDX for MacOS X will use the new networking interface in MacOS X, not the
obsolete "OpenTransport" anymore (incidentally ending support for MacOS 9), and that will solve >the stalling problem.
A new test version has been sent to some people for testing.

So Bottom line is, You need to Keep 10.4.11 Around, if you need to d/l with KDX!!!

Well I think its amazing that your KDX is all right when everybody else has these drop-off d/l's! With 10.4.X I get a steady 5-600k, really smooth & quick.
With Leopard it goes to 800K/sec fro a a moment about 15 -45 sec. Then it just quits relaying data. The client stays connected to the d/l procedure but Data ceases to transmit. I'm using a source in Sweden to connect with. I never had any issue till Leopard. I was glad I was not alone in this, it gave me comfort that my connection/install was robust. I have no issues with Safari. I get a full 3+MB a sec d/l on iTunes or Quicktime. As fast as my connection is rated at 30mbs a sec d/l, and 500kps upload. Cablevision is the provider. Is your connection in the US or overseas?

I'm with you. I can't imagine that his is working properly. I looked around the web the past few days, and found many instances where people say it's not working. Plus I find it hard to contradict a rep from KDX who admitted that it was broken.

I connect to a KDX server on a very fast pipe, and experience an almost 1000KB/sec download vanish to nothing in about 5 seconds.

I can't imagine Apple doing such a thing for one clear reason (so Johnodd4 you might reveal your sources or stop spreading nonsense).
KDX is not intended for illegal practise. It's a filesharing app. That some people use it to spread warez is not the concern nor responsibility of the autor of KDX.
I myself have used KDX for a long time to easily give employees access to company files. Yes the UI is't the strongest part 😉 but it's fast and gives to possibility to post News, Chat and what more.

I totally agree with jeeepeee, users want a open operating system, and not a OS where Apple blocks services like KDX, Ill stay Tiger, untill this is fixed, also is not a nice move, that Leopard connects in Germany to ARD Television servers, I feel more and more loosing trust on the privacy of OS X Leopard...I dont know why they do those things, maybe Governments force them!? I want a OS, not a SPY OUT USER OS!!

I have found a workaround that isn't too tedious if you happen to be running Windows XP in Parallels Desktop for Mac. (I would presume that this would work in other virtualization software, but my experience only includes Parallels.)

Grab the windows client from Haxial's website, and place it's folder structure where you like (no installer). Alias your Download directory tree to the Leopard desktop via the Parallels network share if you like. Copy over your prefs, and install your certificate. Enable Coherence mode and run, and you'll feel right at home, with performance on par with what you're accustomed to in Tiger.
