“Not allowed to use restricted network port" for port 563

It seems that starting from Safari 3 it has started to block traffic based on some ports. I have seen that before with Firefox which started to block all non standard ports, however it provided a way to override any ports that you needed.

Our local internet bank uses port 563 for secure traffic and ALL users have to use this port for some services. It is SSL+HTTP traffic on it although the port is not allocated for this. Now Safari blocks the port which is against my wish. I want to connect to that port and want Safari to stop blocking me. How do I configure that?

I mean it's nice that Safari tries to make things more secure for ordinary dumbusers, but I know what I'm doing and I want to be able to override this behavior as this obstructs work for me and renders Safari useless.

I'm using Safari 3 on Leopard.

The error message is:
Safari can’t open the page “ https://portaal.riik.ee:563/x/kodanik/”. The error was: “Not allowed to use restricted network port” (WebKitErrorDomain:103) Please choose Report Bugs to Apple from the Safari menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.

btw how the **** am I supposed to file a bugreport? Didn't find that page.

I feel your pain. I am in the same boat. I need to override the port blocking "feature" that is completely shutting down user access to my web server which I have to run through a specific port.

Is there a work around for this, anyone? Any third party utilities that will correct this huge blunder on Apple's part? I mean come on, a browser that won't let you specify a port number in the URL? Get real. Don't make me and my users sideline Safari in favor of a sub-standard browser just because of this one error in judgement.

I'm using Safari 3 in Leopard, but this is also a problem in both PC and Mac Beta versions of Safari 3.
