I have been trying to buy music over the last 3 days. I keep getting this message after entering my password. Itunes cannot connect to Itunes Store. Unknown itunes store error (-9808). The only change that I made since my last purchase is installing Photoshop. How can I fix it?
I get the same error I ran my diagnostics and it was:
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)
Hewlett-Packard HP Pavilion dv1000 (ET732UA#ABA)
iTunes 7.5.0.20
CD Driver 2.0.6.1
CD Driver DLL 2.0.6.2

I have had this problem for awhile, as well.
Finally, after searching through all the forums, I have found something that works.
1) Go into your Internet Options
2) Click the Advanced tab
3) Scroll down to Security
4) Uncheck the box labeled "Check for server revocation certificate"
I tried calling support, doing everything around... they ended up telling me to disconnect the iPhone and turn it off... then hold down the "home button" and keep it down while plugging the phone back into the computer... it'll restart itself and reinstall everything. When all that's done... it was SUPPOSED to fix itself... it didn't... so, I checked my time and date settings... turned out... my time/date was incorrect and that was the source of the whole problem. Try reinstalling the software and then check the time on your computer... it might help.
Thank you for this information. I have been working with Norton for hours to get it working again and nothing they did worked. I followed the steps you listed and fixed in in less than a minute!!! Thank you again.
Thank you so much for the suggestion to uncheck the "server revocation" box - worked straight away, and I'd been struggling with it for days! Thanks again 🙂
