Album artwork on computer but not on ipod??

make sure that for every song artwork is applied by going to get info (of the song) then the artwork tab... if you see the cover art then it will go to the ipod... for the ipod to have cover art for every song then every song has to have the picture.... I say that because in itunes if you have a song and album name with artwork and then you have another song from the same album... the song will inherit the artwork due to the same album name. Unfortunately that does not work the same when it is on the ipod.

I've got a similar issue. My wife bought me an 80GB iPod Classic, and I've been going through moving all of my files slowly from one iPod to the other (thank you Sentui). As I've done this, I've taken the time to tidy up my library a bit, pulling in album artwork via "Get Album Artwork". However, very few of the tracks retain their artwork once I move them onto the iPod and remove the originals from my hard drive.

Before anyone says "re-sync", I don't sync my iPod. I have an 80GB iPod, and a 10GB hard drive. The reason I got my first iPod was to hold the increasingly large MP3 collection that was taking over my hard drive. Syncing just is not an option. (In fact, the reason my wife bought me the iPod Classic is because she was looking to get me an external hard drive, and for the minimal difference in price this just made sense.)

I've heard rumors that the artwork isn't even transferred to the iPod now, that it stays on the hard drive. Is this true? When I delete the MP3s from my hard drive (after transferring), does it erase the downloaded artwork? I want the artwork on the iPod. I want it associated with and connected to the MP3. I love the attractive display the iPod has (my first color one), but all of the blank album covers doesn't look too slick.

thats how i always do my artwork.. saved images from amazon.... then added in get info and it works great.

I am also having this problem, haha... So you two aren't the only ones. sadface

Ok for album artwork to show up on your ipod;
1. click on the ipod symbol icon on in your iTunes
2. Click on the music *TAB in that window
3. Scroll down and click the box that says "display album artwork on your iPod"
4. Click apply
5. VOILA! C'est excellente!

I've been having the same problem with cover art, although it appears that the artwork that isn't syncing is the stuff that I had to add manually with images from Amazon and other sources. Do you think that's the problem -- that the manually added artwork won't sync?

Even after making sure all songs had artwork, I had to uncheck the artwork option when I synced my Nano so that I started with a clean slate of no artwork at all. Then I checked the box to include the artwork, and everything worked the way it was supposed to.

I am having this problem as well with my 5th Gen 30gb. All the artwork is there in the library, but it gets lost when going to the iPod. I downloaded the "Amazon Art" Widget and that works pretty well, but it's kind of a PITA since I went through the library and added all the artwork, then I had to go through and do the same thing on my iPod. I'll have to try the unchecking/rechecking and resyncing thing.

The same thing happens to me. I imported a CD of mine, clicked the import button for the album art, and it works on my computer. As soon as I play it on my iPod, though, the art just shows up black. It doesn't change, and I've resync-ed it many times.

It worked great getting the images onto iTunes. I just can't get those images to sync onto my Nano.

i have the third gen ipod nano and i have the art work in itunes but when i get into my ipod only a few show up as black when they are not black like master of puppets by metallica
