I wouldn't consider this as a 'life or death' issue. I look at it as a matter of convenience or preference for that user to remove an app. There might be other programs that play/organize music on the Mac but none as good in my estimation.
It is possible that the user just wants a clean install of iTunes without reinstalling the entire system.
I just noticed that you had a previous go-around with BVT on the +same subject+ but an earlier thread. Now I can understand the wish for an exorcisim.

This should do it. I to have been having trouble with iTunes, but I have an old computer that is barely fast enough.
