This monitor calibration system worked fine until I "upgraded" to Leopard. X-Rite says they can't determine if it's a problem with their software- I upgraded to their latest version, but they're no help.

Also, my Epson printer ColorBurst RIP doesn't load, it just crashes. And when I quit Photoshop, I get a message that says that Photoshop has crashed.

I downloaded the disc image of 10.5.1 update & reinstalled the update from that, but it didn't solve any of my problems.

Is this progress?

I use the *Eye-One Display 2* and it is clearly not Leopard-ready.

They only way I can get it to work at all is to uninstall all the components, then reinstall everything. I am then able to use and create an ICC profile +exactly once.+ Every subsequent attempt results in this sequence:

1. Launch Eye-One Match
2. Get dialog box telling me my ICC profile is too old with button to "Launch Eye-One-Match"
3. Click button to "Launch Eye-One-Match"
4. Dialog box disappears.
5. Repeat with same results.

I've posted two tickets at X-Rite over the past month with a generic response to the first and no reply at all to the second.

I'm extremely disappointed with the poor response from X-Rite on this. Meanwhile, I'm running longer and longer without a calibrated monitor, since uninstalling the software, then reinstalling it repeatedly gets old fast.

The Epson RIP isn't ready for Leopard yet. You can check their site; they say RIP updates are coming but there's no date.

Note also that there are beta Epson drivers for printing photos... they are easy to find on the Epson UK site, but no to easy on the US site. You want the 6.x series drivers, NOT the 3.x series drivers.

As far as monitor calibration, I have an Eye One 2 that works just fine on Leopard. I'm using Eye One Match version 3.6.2; I never had any issues with crashing.

As far as progress... well it's an OS upgrade. These things take a little time for all software to get upgraded. Some move faster than others. If you don't want a little pain, don't live on the bleeding edge 🙂

I too am having issues, I use the Eye-One Pro Photo spectrometer for monitor calibration and print profiling, and the Eye-One Match 3 software, will start up but will not recognize the device, however the system profiler will show that the eye-one is attached in the USB device chain, I have sent an e-mail to X-Rite to see if they can help solve this problem, it appears that the Eye One Match 3 Software does not know how to talk to Leopard and the attached devices

Any Ideas?

I have recently purchased a new mac book pro running osx 5.1
I've installed eye-one match version 6.2.1 and have not been able to run a successful calibration. I have re-installed the software with out any luck.
I've also tried repairing disk permissions which didn't help either.
The one thing that I couldn't do, which was suggested in this thread, was to locate and remove the eye-one file from the preferences folder. Could this be a clue? Any help would be greatly appreciated as at the moment I have 400 dollar piece of plastic sitting on my desk .

I am having the exact same problem and I am really upset about this. I paid over a thousand bucks for my i1 photo and I can't even use it now. I haven't tried using it since I upgraded to 10.5, but I should have known. I just keep getting the "device not found" in the startup window so I upgraded to the eye-one match 3.6.2, that is even worse. It takes forever to open or stops responding altogether, if it does open I get the same message. I just bought a new epson printer and I was planning on making some profiles for it today, guess not. This is the reason I bought a Mac in the first place, to avoid crap like this.
