slow computer
I have a Dual 2 GHz PowerPC G5
Memory: 1.5 GB DDR2 SDRAM
Software installed: Adobe CS, HP scanner software, Epson scanner software, Pando
I bought the computer almost 2 years ago, and it was working very fast. I recently upgraded my CS1 to Adobe CS2 ME. Since then the computer is working slower. I'm not sure if it is because of the software or the Operating system. It is slow mainly when I switch from one program to another and when i open a document.
If I know that it's just because the programs are taking up more memory, I would add more memory to the computer. But I'm not sure if it's something to do with the OS.
On OS 9 there was something called Erase and Install - to completely empty the computer and reinstall everything. That took care of any garbage that could be messing up the system. Is there anything like that on OS 10? If yes, do think that would help?
thank you.
