Yes.
My take is because there are not that many Apple computer users in India. The computers are expensive; the software is difficult to get, even "black", and repairs would be difficult locally.
India is a Microsoft country. PC's and desktops running Microsoft are the norm, are cheaper and the software is easy to get, even "black", and fix.

An example. I took my G-4 PB to Bangalore (5 1/2 hours away via taxi from where I live in India) to get the superdrive either fixed or replaced. They replaced it, but now my Firewire 400 port is not working, and I cannot even get the technician who worked on my computer, as the Apple office has moved and the technicians are spread out in other companies. He may have dislodged something, or something like that, but I can't get him. (Problems most indians face every day, not being able to reach people, but really frustrating)

But really, Mac's are expensive and the income level here in India is from 1/4th to 1/10th the amount in America for the same work. Only the MAC's are expensive to fix.
