Acard 6260m or 6260 not working in 10.5.x

Acard 6260m or 6260 not working in 10.5.x

Howdy all, has anyone figured out how to get an Acard 6260m to work with 10.5.x? There is a 62xx extension in both 10.4 and 10.5. But the drives attached to the card are no longer recognized. The versions of the drivers are different, and I swapped the extensions with no luck. It actually recognized that I put in an old extension, and it didn't seem to like it. There are no updaters on the acard site for this card.

This is on a dual 1 Ghz Quicksilver machine with a fresh install.

Yeah, no worky yet. There probably is a way to do it with old extensions- I just haven't figured out the magic combo yet. Anyone know what makes 10.5 like 10.4 extensions?

OK, I gave up. Yanked the card and I'm running off the internal IDE buses now.

When I yanked the card, I found out it was actually a Sonnet Tempo Ultra66, which is the same as a 6260m.

There is an updater on the sonnet site for it (3.1.2 I think)- that might fix things. But, I got tired of messing with it.

Here's my replies from Acard
The AEC6260M supports upto Mac OS 9.x only.
It was phased out before Mac OS X published.
it might be work with Mac OS X 10.3 and 10.4 but without our guarantee.

Dear Sir,

You might need newer IDE host controller such as our AEC6280M and AEC6880M which support not only the Mac OS X 10.5 but also big drive technology(128G and above).
