Coverflow does not appear

I have a classic 80Gb iPod and want to use coverflow. However, it doesn't even appear in the "music" menu, or anywhere else. Any suggestions on what I need to do to get it activated? I have the most up to date software for the iPod, updated yesterday.

TIA

Unless you have some other problem, you should go to "Settings" on your iPod and chose "Music Menu" from the list. You should notice a large number of different options. Some will have a check mark to the right of them and some will not.. The ones that already have a check mark will show on your Music Menu. You should notice "CoverFlow" on the list and it will not have a check mark to the right of it.. Highlight CoverFlow and press the center select button. It should put a check mark to the right of CoverFlow.
After that just push Menu again and return to the Music screen and CoverFlow should now appear on your list. You can then highlight CoverFlow and view your artwork.
Hope this is of some help unless you have some other problem.

you have to look more carefully I guess, it's definitly there. BUT you have an option for "main menu" and for "music menu" under settings where you can set up everything that should appear in these two menus, and coverflow should be available for both. (note: "coverflow" is not listed unter the settings menu itself! you have to go to settings and THEN to an option in the settings menu named "music menu" and if you are in the "music menu-menu" you should see coverflow right at the top of the list). if it isn't, you probably don't have a new iPod classic (6g iPod). coverflow is not available for older iPods. which size does your iPods hard drive have according to the back of the iPod (the size of the hard drive is printed on the back). if it's not 80GB or 160GB it's not a classic and you cannot use cover flow unfortunatly.

I'm sorry..I made a mistake..The CoverFlow option is under Main Menu after going to Settings and NOT under the Music Menu. As described by others on this topic, it is not just in the Settings menu but you need to look in the Main menu section.
If you do not find it there then you might want to make sure you actualy have a new Classic. I'm not to familiar with iPods in the past since I only have a 2nd. Gen. Nano other than my new Classic.
Sorry for the mistake. 😟
