iPhone connecting to Orange / Wanadoo Livebox

Hi there

I have read several posts about this and had problems myself connecting to my Livebox at home. But I have resolved the problem so I thought I would share my experiences here. There were four things I did which seemed to solve it.

1. Go to your livebox configuration, click Configuration, then click Advanced, then Wireless and set the pairing mode to 10 minutes (or more, just gives you enough time to mess around with adding the password).

2. Whilst still in this menu, change the setting radio button from "WPA or WEP security" to "WEP security only", then click submit.

3. Hold the '1' button down for a few seconds and release on your livebox (this sets the pairing mode to start).

4. On your iPhone go to settings and select the WiFi connection. Then when you enter your password, remember that it is case sensitive, so you need to click the CAPs button before every letter you enter. You do not need to include the spaces incidentally. Click "join" on your iPhone password page and keep your fingers crossed.

As the password is quite long and what with the fiddling about with the CAPs key, it's easy to get something wrong on the password. You may have to re-enter the password a few times.

Good luck!

Thanks for this. My problem continues slightly differently. Manage to get the pairing working and iPhone linked up fine - but as soon as I finish the session the Livebox requires me to push the pairing button again rather than recognising the iphone automatically. Has worked fien with other routers so must be soemthign odd about the livebox. Really appreciate some help.
