My bluetooth just keeps on searching!!

What headset are you trying to pair with?

I take it you can only use bluetooth to connect with an ear piece and cannot send tunes, photos etc??? I must say this iphone does have a lot of features missing such as mms, sms reports etc

Make sure your headset is turned on first. The next thing you can do is try turning bluetooth off and then back on.

A rest may also help by holding the sleep/wake button and the home key at the same time.

Hello Randy. Sorry to see your having this issue

The iPhone is set out to go looking for Bluetooth headsets that are in Pair mode.

Check your manual for the Bluetooth to see what you need to do with it to get it to pair with another device or be seen by another device.

At times you have to hold down a button of some sort on the headset that puts it in a pair mode. iPhone will then spot it and give you an option to Pair. At which point you then need to enter a pin code which is also in your Bluetooth documentation.

I have successfully paired with my headset. But it appears the search for devices (spinning cog symbol) continues constantly even after a device has been successfully paired. I assume it constantly looks for others that may be discoverable? Is this the normal operation?

Yes it is expected behavior for the Spinning gear to keep going. Even when connected to a Bluetooth Device already.

So this is not something at this time that can be changed. If this does concern you. Feel free to call iPhone Support at 1-800-My-iPhone and we can assist with getting this up to the proper department for you.

Again at this time what your seeing is normal behavior.

the word shocking comes to mind. Anything can be abused but removing BT file transfer is the easy option. I think some form of BT file transfer is ok. Like personal photos! Ristrictions are good but when done in the right way.

Correct. There is no BT file transfer.

As for missing features, it is what it is.

Never said I agree with the restriction. Just said that it is what it is for now.
