Original iHome and iPod Touch

Is anyone here successfully using their iHome alarm clock to wake to an ipod touch playlist? Can you explain to me how to do this?

Powerbook G4, Mac OS X (10.4.5), 1.25 GHZ, 1GB Ram

1. Go to the playlist you want to wake up from
2.Touch the first song and pause (so the song will be in pause)
3. Now when the iHome goes to play music it will play from that playlist

Will it start playing from the alarm this way? Does it need to be off or in sleep mode before setting the alarm like my older iPod does? I've tried several different ideas, but the alarm is always defaulting to the beep.

I'm not sure of the model number, but it was the very first one they came out with, it's white. I got it about 2-3 years ago.

Yeah, maybe it's the firmware update. I just updated the touch software itself the other day. Does that not update the firmware as well? If not, how do I get the firmware update?

EDIT: No, it says I've got 1.1.2 (3B48b)

OK, I think I have it now. You were right about having it paused on a playlist. On my older iPod, it needs to be woken from sleep in order to play from the alarm,. Thanks for your help.
