Waiting for activation? How long does it take

Its taking a long time is this normal for activation.

i've been waiting a long time now as well. Probably about an hour.
Not only that but do you get "no service" while you're waiting for it to activate?

is this normal? i wish i could call apple but this is only outside line i have for now. Does anybody know how long this takes?

Razor, two things. Firstly, are you getting "No Service"?

Secondly, there's not much else you can do.

Hi.

If you are transferring your number from another service it could take up to 6 hours even if you aren't transferring it could take almost one day. It does suck cause you can't even use your IPOD either. Just wait it out.

That can't be right!

My activation took all of 10 minutes and I had to convert from a corporate to a private account.

i'm not changing numbers or anything. I'm really worried about the fact my iphone says no service. Could that cause a problem with activation?
Although, when i try and ring the number i've been given. It says that the number has not been recognized.

I think the phone has to have cell service to activate. This has been an issue a couple of times. Best to call AT&T if it doesn't activate after a day (or sooner if you want).
