Torrent download speeds

Okay so I'm kind new to the whole torrent thing, but I need some help with my torrent download speeds. I have a AEBS and did some port mapping and such. My internet connection is fairly descent (speed test says that I got at leas 2000 kb/s dl speed), but I just can't get very fast download speeds. My regular speeds are around 1.5 kb/s. I did all the AZbot stuff to adjust my max upload speed settings. Could someone help with anything that I need to configure on my Mac and/or AEBS.

Macbook Pro 15.5", Mac OS X (10.5.1)

Try using Tomato see "Here"
Your download speeds really depend on the seeds.

If your router/firewall is configured for NAT, you should probably make a port forwarding on your router to the (static) IP adress of your Mac.

E.g. ports 6881-6999 to 192.168.0.5

Then, it's probably wise to limit your upload speed to max 80% of your line upstream so that your own download are not slown down by the seeding.
