EZDrummer not found?

Hello,

I have recently updated from Logic 7.2 to Logic Studio, and Mac Tiger to Mac Leopard,

I have ToonTrack EZ drummer, and have installed it, and it just wont find it anywhere?

With Logic 7, when it was looking for AU devices, it found it straight away,

Please help!!!

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.5.1), 2GB RAM

hey, I think i have installed the upgrade and i did what you told me to, couldnt find it...

i am so confused, because when i go to library - application support, there is a EZdrummer folder with all the neccessary files,

even when i go to library - audio - plugins... all the files needed are there.. so it looks like ive clearly installed it, Logic 8 just doesnt want to show it!

Hi,

thanks for all the advice so far,

however, i have tried following all the steps, Rescanning for the devices, downloading toontrack solo as reccomended on the toontrack forums,

sadly my logic 8 still wont recognise the dam thing!
any other advice?

e.g. if all my files are in the right place? for those of you who have it working? would really appreciate if you could let me know what files you have and where they are placed!?

many thanks

Hmm…

chucknkd's suggestion is correct - but if it's not in your list of Audio Units, clearly something went wrong in the upgrade to Leopard or the installation of Logic.

If it's not showing up in Logic 8's AU Manager, then you should reinstall. You'll have to reauthorize from Toontrack's site.

One thing to try (but a long shot) try deleting this file

~/Library/Preferences/com.toontrack.superior.auezdrummer.plist

and restart everything. If EZD now appears in Logic's AU Manager, you'll probably have to reauthorize.

It'll be ok - there are users of EZD, Logic 8 and Leopard running fine, and I have it up and running on a Leopard test disk.

Good luck!

Your files seem to be in the right place

The EZD component is in

/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/

the expansion packs are in

/Library/Application Support/EZ Drummer

Have you tried logging in to your machine under a different user account?

If you continue to have no luck, contact Rogue Marechal. He's in London too, and his contact info can be found on Toontrack's site. His support is always terrific.

hey,

ive tried everything...
the thing is,

my friend installed the same version on his mac after i did on our macbooks with Tiger.

Then, he got leopard, then logic 8 and installed them all after one another and his version works just fine on his mac.

I however, did the same, but logic 8 wasnt opening because of melodyne... so i was worried that it was ruining my logic 8 (silly i know), so i frantically started deleting all third party files in my library - application support and in library - audio...

of course with the intention of reinstalling EZ drummer.

So i install it, and nothing happens... 😟
