I am having trouble with the Wireless Bluetooth Mighty Mouse. For some odd reason the Scroll Ball will no longer scroll Down? Has anyone else had any of these problems? Does anyone know how to fix them? If so please let me know.
Hmm I just tried that and nope the Wireless Bluetooth Mighty Mouse will still not scroll down... The Mighty Mouse was a "Hand-me-down" from my Father because he couldn't get it to scroll down either. He has gone through 5 of them because of this problem. I thought I could fix it but so far no good.
I just now tried the second article I cleaned it and everything but I am still unable to scroll down...
I do not have Vertical Scrolling Disabled.
Like I said this mouse is a Hand-Me-Down from my Dad and he has gone through about 5 of them because of this problem. ALTHOUGH His doesn't clean his Apple products that much (it gets on my nerves) BUT I tried Cleaning it and I am still unable to scroll down wards...
The retail price for Mighty Mouses are?
$50.00 or $60.00 for the BlueTooth?
and $30.00 for the Wire Mighty Mouses?
I am thinking maybe I should purchase anther one and have it be MY Mighty Mouse and clean it regularly.
I am using the Mighty Mouse now and it works fine except I can scroll down but I would hate to but another because this one works very well.
I am wondering if Apple could "clean" it if I dropped it off at my local Apple store? Although I could just buy another if I did that?
But if anyone has any other ideas or any other help they could give me that would be great.
There is one more anecdotal thing that a user pointed out. If the mouse pad or surface you are using is too reflective or not rough enough, the optics have trouble tracking and for some reason it seems the first thing to go is scrolling down.
In all respect to you. I don't really think that is the problem. Because the surface I use is a hard wood table that is brown and the tracking is fine on the Mighty Mouse. I CAN scroll from side to side I just found out. So I can scroll up,left and right but NOT down... I think that maybe something broke inside of the Mouse like the sensor for scrolling down...
I am having the EXACT SAME PROBLEM and it is driving me crazy. This is NOT a hand-me-down mouse. I bought it new in May. I am so frustrated that I cannot find an answer to this question. Have you had any further luck?
I get this intermittently with my Mighty Mouse also.
The only fix I have found for it is to go into the System Preferences and disable all scrolling on the mouse, close the System Pref and go back in and enable it again.
I've cleaned mine several times with iKlear but still very very sluggish scrolling down...up, left & right work just fine. I even turned off scrolling and re-enabled it like the other guy suggested but no luck.
Got same problem and none of the solutions mentioned here worked. So I took a vacuum cleaner, adjusted sucking to "lowest" and gave it a go round all cavities. Mighty Mouse now works perfectly.
Warning - be carefull when vacuuming scroll button area, press it down and hold it with your nail, so it doesn't get sucked-up. Didn't happen to me, but i had to find the F3 key fom my PowerBook in the cleaner....
I re-read what apple said about cleaning the mouse - the mentioned turning it over, which I didn't do before. I did this time and that helped. I'll think about the vacuum (haha).
