Long incoming SMS are cut short (not split)

I have seen it too, but I don't have a solution. Either Apple needs to fix it in the firmware or ATT isn't sending all the texts.

In the UK, IIRC you have to send an SMS with the character "n" in reply to the first bit, and then the second bit arrives.

Seems like a long winded "solution", but worth a try ...

On 1.1.2 texts are received and concatenated OK.

I suspect it is either an earlier software flaw, or a flaw with the SMSC your provider in using. I have loads of texts in excess of 140. All concatenated properly and displayed as one message.

Well crap. I'm using 1.1.2 and I still have the problem. My SMS messages appear in the chat log just fine, displays the message in its entirety no matter how long it is. It's the incoming messages that are messed up. If someone sends me a long message, I get a flood of six or seven messages all showing the beginning of that specific section of the message, then each one of them cuts off and the next message begins elsewhere. The next message doesn't even start where the first bit left off. Hope somebody at Apple sees this post, this is a real problem.

Call AT and T first.

Long out going messages can also be corrupt. I sent one to a friend and he got the middle - no beginning or end! There is no warning when typing that the message is too long like on most phones.

With what phone and what UK operator? All SMS infrastructure currently in the UK should transparently support concatenated SMS traffic.
