Thanks I'll try that. I bought this digital frame in wide screen format. I figured hey resizing will do the trick but it actually shrinks the photo when I resize them to that aspect ratio. It has the correct aspect ratio but doesn't fill the frame, it leaves like 3/4 to inch all around. I tried iphoto (useless) then I downloaded image well a free little program that will resize them but again doen't fill out the frame. I'm guessing the only way may be change apsect ratio but keep same resolution. I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong, or understand the resolution resizing thing.

Do you know what the exact screen size is, in pixels? If so try cropping to that size and see if it will fill the screen properly. The resolution of any photo frame is 72 dpi or so. I used Resize! to resize the photos to my frame's pixel dimensions and reduce the quality level so I can get more photos on the card. But it's not a wide screen model.

What happens when you don't resize the photo but use it as is? Does it fill the screen?

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

The screen is 480 x 234. I tried that on iphoto (not quite user friendly) then I downloaded image well and load the pic enter the size and export. Real simple and all info in front of you. Today I actually learned something new in iphoto. When you edit then crop you can select 16 x 9 HD from the drop down. iphoto (for me anyway switched in 05) is one of those apps that has features but not very revealing. Anyway I thought that did it, loaded a couple back in the SD card and put in this cody 7" widescreen digi frame I purchased. Same thing pics are cropped with the outer edge all around about an 1inch. OK now I'm ticked took my panasonic camera switched to 16 x 9 format took a couple pics in that widescreen and see maybe that's what it wants. Wrong same thing. I called their tech support and they say it should fill the screen. Their demo pics on do fill the whole screen, and I know my pics are much higher res. No sure. Oh the regular pics do fill top and bottom but of course not the sides because its 4:3 apect ratio. What bugs me is taking the pics in wide format still cropped in the frame. Maybe this thing is going back.
thanks for the replies.

Old Toad (sorry for calling u that) finally got it. Yeah I knew about the 2.05. I tried several sizes with that aspect ratio same results. Out of fustration I started to press buttons on top of the frame like crazy. You were on it thanks. Then out the blue I see full screen. It's a combination. First you press one to stop the slideshow then one button out the five will flip into full view. No where and I mean no where in that stupid manual does it say it. Even tech support didn't have a clue. Thanks for the support.
