Am I the only person on earth who LOVES trackballs? For those of us accustomed to them, regular mice seem difficult and painful and space-requiring to use. Does anyone know if there is any company currently making good trackballs that will work with Intel Macs...and Leopard? My old Logitech only works because I use a third-party software called USB Overdrive. The older Kensington trackball on my wife’s computer doesn’t work at all on this one. What are my options for trackballs, anyone know?
We have an old Logitech Marble Mouse which works just fine on our 20" iMac C2D 2.4 GHz running OS 10.5.1. No extra software (like USBOverDrive) required.
I haven't tried my Kensington trackball. I guess I'll dig it out and give it a go.
Might be hard to do tonight with the Cowboys/Packers game on...
I have an old Logitech Trackman Wheel that works fine on my Intel Mac without any third party software. I too prefer a trackball but they are hard to find these days. CDW still carries this item and so does Office Depot I believe.
I just bought an imac and I'm using my old microsoft trackball explorer. I did have to go to the microsoft site to down load the latest drivers for it though. On the apple web site, they do sell a Kensington trackball.
I also have the Kensington 64327 and have downloaded the Mac drivers. The only way I have found to scroll in Safari pages is by simultaneously clicking both keys, and that only goes down, not up. Is there any way to make the trackball scroll within the page (like click and scroll, or something) ?
