Transcription Software for interviews

I'm working on a documentary project with quite a few interviews.
Is anyone aware of any programs that will work with FCP?
It would be great if timecode was noted periodically, but even a transcription without time code would be of value. Thanks

Well, software to do it is your brain. But if you want to transcribe some interviews look at http://www.vpedal.com/
This device controls quicktime player. You simply type in the word processor of your choice and use your foot to control playback. Quicktime player will show you the timecode of the file or a counter or frames without doing a window burn. Just click right of the numbers in the player window.

There are some voice recognition softwares available that you could train to your voice then play the audio back in headphones and speak what you hear into a mic and the software will type what you say but costly and not very accurate.

I have a buddy who does legal depositions.
He has worked with every piece of voice-recog software every created for Macintosh and PC.
None of them are viable for video work.
1. They must be trained for each individual speaker.
2. They require absolutely crystal clear audio.

I have no personal experience with any of these applications but I've seen them in use by several people. Under ideal conditions, they're fabulous and the users love them. But these are advanced users with specific control over their input and output. And, all output files must be proofread.

Right, that's why I said you train it to your voice and then repeat what
you hear in the interview. Even then there would still be lots to fix.

Not really; wasn't talking to you, just adding to the discussion.

If you stick around long enough you'll understand the threaded view indicates nothing you can infer about the order in which posts are read by someone who is not using threaded view or to whom anything is being directed specifically. Some of us will usually quote something to which we are directly responding so as to leave no amiguousity of the intentionness as to the directivity to whom we are pointing. Sometimes.

Thanks for this input.
I have vonage has an internet phone provider, they offer a service that takes telephone messages and transcribes them for a fee. I'm sure it must be automated.
I believe the latest version of Dragon voice recognition software does not require any training. I don't need super accurate transcription, just a close approximation. Hopefully someone will read this and have some experience in this area.
