QuickTime 3 question.

I am attempting to download a new game from a CD to my computer. I keep getting these error messages and I do not know how to fix them. I have access to the Internet and have attempted downloading with the Internet open and again with it closed. Can someone please help me with this? I would be greatly appreciative. Thank you very much, in advance, for your assistance.
Here are the error messages that I keep receiving:

Sounds to me that the game is not very "new" and may only play directly from the CD.
In QuickTime version 3 and 4 (days of dial-up Internet connections) a new downloader had the option to install either a "basic" or "advanced" version of QuickTime.
The installer used a "component" download system which only installed the bare minimum to view most files. When it came upon a QuickTime file that needed more components they would be downloaded when the file was viewed for the first time.
Those older versions both included an "Xtra folder" and it held those extra components. They are no longer used after version 5 and every install since includes a complete version of QuickTime.
When you move the file from the CD to your PC it no longer has access to that "Xtra folder" and the file complains and you get the error messages.
