My questions deals with the icons for Office programs. I am running Leopard and in some places I can see the Office icons associated with the file, like in a folder on my desktop. But in my documents folder and other folders on my desktop there are word and excel files that don't reflect the Office icons. Just a black/white generic XLS or DOC name on the file. It's just not consistent. Any ideas how to correct this problem?
You can control-click on the folder in the background, select Show View Options and UNcheck Show Icon Preview (and use as defaults - at the bottom - if you wish that for all folders). Or set up icon preview mode for every folder if you want it that way.
It's true I see miniature versions of the documents, is this Leopards new way of displaying the icon? And why is it that in some folders I see the old style, for example, 'green' icon for Excel?
