iMaps

Just wondering if as you use the iMaps or navigation you get charged by network carrier?Or it works just like any SatNav? And how do you get that little buttom usefull with the car on it. Because soon I'm traveling to Europe and want to be sure I could use it as SatNav.

Accessing the Google Maps widget is no different than when accessing Google Maps with a browser on your computer - internet access is required.

The iPhone does not include a GPS radio and this feature is not GPS or SatNav. The car button provides turn by turn directions only with entering your current location and destination address required for the directions - no different than when accessing Google Maps with a browser on your computer.

Thanks Glyn.It appears that Apple need to work more on the iPhone in the future ,I suppouse that is they marketing strategy-come up with the brand of iPhone and then, maybe , Will release a more advanced iPhone with all the tools and gadgets that decent people need ,Sort of" all in one ".Now suddenly to me it doesn't have much of use ..Yes it is nice toy ,but soon I'll get boared with it.

I consider myself a decent person as do my family, friends and business associates and the iPhone meets my needs and then some and is much more than a toy to me although it can be fun to use.

The iPhone was not designed nor intended for everyone. It is a phone, an iPod and an internet device.

The data downloaded with the Google Maps feature is insignificant and not something one would be constantly accessing regardless.

If the iPhone included GPS and the other things you refer to, sounds like you are the type of person who would get bored easily regardless which is a shame in some ways but as with the iPhone, it is what it is.
