Outlet sparks when powercord is plugged in

I just received a new Macbook from the Apple store in Atlanta, GA. When I got home I plugged in the power cord to the Mac first. Then I plugged the power cord straight to wall power... When I plugge it into wall outlet.. The outlet popped and you could see electricity come out.. It does this to every wall jack I plug into in my house. I have plugged other devices into the outlet and they are fine. Would this be a concern with my Apple Power adapter? Any ideas?
