Off-line install / configure of Leopard Server...?

Would this work...?

1) Set up Leopard Server on a Firewire Drive connected to a C2D Macbook Pro laptop
2) Connect Firewire Drive to CD Mac Mini and boot from Firewire disk
3) Use Leopard Server running from FW drive / confirm + configure to suit Mac Mini if required

If this would work, next question is... what would be the best way of moving installation from FW drive to the MacMini HD (always assuming this would be a sensible thing to do).

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm guessing you may run into hardware config issues, esp if mac mini is not intel and mackbook is... Best option is to do a remote install if you don't have a monitor (assuming this is the reason for not doing it directly?). Just plug it into the same network as your macbook, boot the mini off the server install disk and then open server assistant on your mackbook. You should then be able to install and configure everything from there, and then use server preferences and/or server administration to set up specific services. Would recommend standard or workgroup install depending on your needs and the environment it'll be running in as you can always switch to advanced later, but can't go back from advanced once there...
