blank slides show up in slideshow

I have created several slides. When I play the slide show, blank slides show up between the slides that I created. What gives?

Found the problem.

In '08 Keynote, the default in the BUILD ORDER part of the inspector has changed to "on click", which mean any text with a "build" won't happen until you click- you get a blank background.

Used to be the default was "automatically after transition". So, I changed that setting on all my slides with builds and it runs fine.

This should help the original poster..

thanks.

When one of these rogue blank slides appears in the presentation, and you escape the presentation, what slide is highlighted in the Navigator sidebar? Is the same slide selected consistently? And does the blank slide appear in the same spot each time? What if you save and close the presentation, then open it again? What if you quite KN and open the presentation again? Same blanks in same spot?

Wow, thank you.

These are not rouge, they are consistent between each slide in the presentation. All my slides are on the standard grey-to-black (black to grey?) gradation. Let's see if I can explain better:

Slide 1 says "my name"
Slide 2 says "I have candy"
Slide 3 says "What do you need?"

In presentation mode, slide 1 loads automatically and holds. No problem. My next click will bring a gradation slide with no text. The next click will bring "I have candy", next click, a gradation slide without text.

If I esc at this point, Slide 3 is highlighted.

Does that help?

Thanks again.
