How to Add timestamp to movie

I would like to insert the original video capture date and/or time in a movie for a specific time duration. This information is available in the video clip timecode and needs to be extracted, formatted, and positioned as a "subtitle" in the timeline in a manner allowing it to appear in the final movie for a specified time period, not generally the full length of the clip. The intent is to show in the movie for the specified time period, the date and time that each frame was captured. An alternative to displaying the continuously-changing date and time would be to show just the date and time of the first frame for the duration of the display period. What is the easiest way to accomplish this using Final Cut Studio? Thanks

Those references helped. From the manual, I think that using the video filter timecode reader should do one of the things I want to do. I found a page entitled "Generating Timecode Window Burns" that has a description of the functionality. Other parts of the manual describe how to control the start and end points for the "burn". Thanks for the help.
